Paulownia Body Wood
The ST body shape, well-loved by many players due to its comfortable contours, including the armrest, provides a unique comfort when snugly fitted against the body. Paulownia wood is gaining attention in recent custom guitar brands for its acoustic properties, sharing characteristics between basswood and alder. It offers outstanding resonance, smooth sound, and above all, an exceptionally lightweight advantage.
Body Wood and Sound
Paulownia wood delivers a smooth and round attack feel, accompanied by deep resonance. Some compare its sound to Swamp Ash. It’s primarily suitable for jazz and blues, but with the combination of high-output ceramic pickups, it covers rocking sounds as well.
Maple Neck
The well-dried maple neck enhances playability’s reliability significantly. It features a slim C-shaped neck profile, ensuring comfortable playing even for individuals with relatively small hands. The matte finish provides a smooth playing experience, allowing effortless position changes and slides.
Semi-Rounded Neck Joint
The robust bolton neck joint, supported by 4 points, ensures extended sustain, similar to the set neck joint that glues the neck and body together, proven through various experiments. Moreover, the bolt-on neck offers advantages in repairs and maintenance due to its separable nature. The semi-rounded neck joint plate and smooth curved edges make playing around the 18-22 frets area effortless.
Fretboard
The 9.5 inch (241mm) radius maple or purple heart fretboard boasts 22 medium jumbo frets securely installed. It features position markers on the front and sides and has a 25.5-inch (648mm) scale length.
Electronics
Custom made ceramic pickups tailored to the mellow characteristics of the body wood produce a relatively strong magnetic field, resulting in high output. The combination of rough and sharp ceramic pickups and the smooth Paulownia wood’s tonal characteristics creates a textured sound. The humbucker bridge pickup, which connects two single pickups in parallel with opposite phases, cancels out 60Hz noise while increasing output, delivering a sharp, substantial sound with a chrome cover.
Controls and Pickup Positions
With a 5-way pickup selector, master volume, and master tone controls, players can easily change tones during performances. Use the tone knob to smooth out the potentially sharp drive tone of the ceramic pickups.
6-point Tremolo Bridge
Equipped with a 6point synchronized tremolo bridge, commonly used in vintage guitars. It allows for precise tuning while remaining relatively easy to set up, making it convenient for maintenance. The saddle part is designed for easy cleaning and maintenance, ensuring hassle-free management of dust and debris.
15mm Padded Gigbag
The durable 15mm padding protects the guitar carefully. Additional thick pads are added to prevent damage to the guitar’s bottom from strap pin impact when placed vertically on the floor. It includes a neck pillow for neck protection and fixation. Areas of contact with metal parts such as strings, machine heads, and bridges are reinforced with sturdy fabric to prevent wear due to friction.
